About Steve.

Steve Matsumoto writes literary fiction rooted in the 1990s, including his first novel, The Last Mixtape. He spent the decade before Y2K as a math teacher, unknowingly wearing chalk dust on his pants and inflicting bad geometry jokes on his students.

After twelve years in the classroom and a lifetime on the East Coast, he moved west, got into real estate, and started ordering his fries “animal style.” These days, Steve lives in Vista, California, with his wife and two sons, who suspect anything they say at dinner could end up as dialogue in a future book.
